Merry Christmas Everyone!!!!! Gavin had a great first christmas. Josh and I drove to Dallas to spend with family and friends for a whole week. We haven't had that much time in Dallas in years. When we drove to Dallas Gavin was excellent. He slept the entire way. He must get his good car sleeping from his mommy. Gavin's Aunt Becky's (yes plural)were so excited to see him. in fact we drove up a night early so that Becky B could see more since she had to work on tuesday. Gavin also did well at church on Christmas Eve. He slept thru all the music and even made it to his first communion.:) Gavin got alot of presents from his family. He is so appreciative, although in the pictures he is asleep. I know he can't wait to be big enough to enjoy them. One present he recieved was a Baby Sign Language kit. Mommy and Daddy are very excited about this so that we can not only understand his needs sooner but he will be able to communicate with his Uncle Braz. We spent Christmas Eve with Mommy's family and then did Christmas with Daddy's family on Saturday. During our week we were able to go see Aunt Becky H, Uncle Jared, and Cousin Andrew's new house. It was big and very pretty. Josh, Gavin and I are sooo happy for them. Aunt Becky even cooked us dinner. It was yummy although Gavin was unable to taste at this time. All Gavin's cousins were so happy to see him and loved holding him and giving him kisses. He is sooo loved. On christmas we were able to enjoy lots of yummy cookies and soup that everyone in the family chipped in somehow. Then on saturday Grandma Sheryl cooked a very yummy ham and veggies. It was also great getting to see Jo and Pat. Jo even held Gavin and thought he was cute. To most this sounds normal, but it's a huge step for Jo. Overall it was a GREAT first christmas.

So the day has finally arrived!! YEAH!!!! I slept well last night until about 3:30 when I had to get up. We had to be at the hospital by 5AM. I felt pretty good going in. I was not that nervous just very excited to meet our little boy. I had the best L&D nurse Lisa. She was very friendly and when we asked her to guess about what time she said 4pm. That was nice to hear since I was expecting the labor to last all day if not at all. They started the pitocin at about 6am. The doctor came around 8:00 and broke my water. The contractions were not that bad at first then got stronger once my water was broken. Josh and I played scrabble. (Which I kicked his butt by 100 points even with contractions. HaHa) I tested out the birthing ball, which I thought was comfortable until Gavin decided he did not like it anymore and Lisa came in and told me I had to get back in bed. That is when I really began to feel the contractions and asked for the epidural. Epidurals are GREAT!!!! I do not know why some women choice not to get them. At this point I was just shy of half way, so at least when I got the epidural I didn't feel much like a wimp. Then after a little nap and more visiting, the time had come to meet Gavin. I could not believe it was time and it was only the afternoon. After a little pushing we finally got to meet our miracle. He was born at 2:56pm. He weighed 8lbs 6oz and was 21 in long. WOW!!!!! He looked huge. I can not believe I did it. I feel like superwomen, very powerful. Josh did good during the delivery, no fainting. I remember during the one class we went to the nurse mentioned how you can choose to have a mirror. I was like, no way. That is one thing we women should not see of ourselves. Then when the time came I wanted to see him born, plus to see if I was pushing effectively since I could not feel. I would recommend women try the mirror. It was amazing and more real to see the amount of work I was doing. After this day I want to THANK GOD for our MIRACLE!!!!!

Doctors Update

We went to the doctor today and found out that there has been no changes. VERY disappointing. I am schedule for an induction on Monday the 8th. I have to be at the hospital at 5am. Oh well. Atleast we have a date in mind. Other then that things are going well. I feel fine. I am at work working my last 6 hours. Then no more work for 10 weeks. That is very exciting in itself.
