Wow, I can't believe half of Gavin's first year of life has gone by. When people tell you to treasure every moment because they grow up fast, it is an understatement. It makes me sad to think my baby is 6 months and a little man. He has changed so much. He is now able to scoot, roll, turn in circles, and sit unsupported. He continues to babble. Josh and I have been working on his sign language since he was 3 months. We sometimes think he understands milk but is still unable to sign anything himself. The books say they may not do their first sign until closer to 8 months. We have hopes that Gavin will meet this goal. Gavin has started taking better naps due to Josh and I following a method called
Ferberizing. It is where you allow to cry themselves to sleep but go comfort them every 5-15 min. It allows them to sooth themselves to sleep yet not feel abandoned. I think it is to really allow the parents to feel like they are not
abandoning them. It seems to work most of the time. He still has moments where he wants to be cuddled. Even with how sad it is that he is growing up so fast it is so fun. He has such a personality. He is learning new things everyday. His favorite entertainer is Tater. He just laughs and laughs. I love him so much and can't wait to see what the next 6 months hold.
Gavin's Stats
Weight 16lbs 8oz (75%)
Length 28 in (greater than 95%)
Head Circumference 17 in (25-50%)
He has actually lost weight since last month. He was 17lbs last month. The
pedi does not seemed worried but is having me do weekly weights for 3 weeks. So far this week he has already gained 3oz.

"Happy Birthday to you. Happy birthday to you. Happy Birthday dear Gavin. Happy Birthday to you!" Gavin really wanted to get his hands on the candle. We had to use one candle since there are no half candles. He really enjoyed his birthday bananas.
