Houston Visitors

We got to visit with our friends from Houston, The Yartum's. We meet Mallory, Matt, and Paige at Chili's for some lunch. Paige was such a sweet girl. She is so well behaved. Gavin did well and was such a flirt. It was fun getting to catch up. Can't wait to see them again the next time we are down there or they are up here.

Christmas Accordioning

Tonight, just a few moments ago, Gavin, Josh, and I began to hear a very familiar musical instrument playing. We couldn't quite figure out where it was coming from. Surely it wouldn't be Cappy/Daddy (whom lives about 25 min away). Sure enough the next thing we knew there was a knock on our door. Cappy was standing there playing his accordion with Christmas cookies. Gavin put out a huge smile. It was such a WONDERFUL surprise to this Christmas season. In fact this so far one of the BEST memories I will have of this Christmas Season. LOVE YOU CAPPY!!!!!

It's Beginning To Feel Like Christmas

Last night Josh, Gavin, and I went to take a tour of the Frisco Square Lights to Music. We had a fun time. The weather was nice since it was chilly but not freezing. The lights were beautiful and Gavin loved watching them flicker. Next year will be even more fun when he is old enough to take the train ride.

Ok so here are some pictures from Gavin's actual 1st birthday. We tried to celebrate with a cupcake when Josh got home, but Gavin wanted nothing to do with it. So the cute plate that you see in pictures no longer exists due to being thrown on the floor. However when he open his gift he was a happy clam who knew exactly how to play the game.

We had Gavin's birthday party this past saturday. There were lots of people who came to help us celebrate. The ball pit was a big favorite with the kids. Gavin was just happy to have balls. He didn't like to slide into them however. Thanks you to everyone who helped us celebrate.

HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY GAVIN!!!!!!

Gavin,

I can't believe you are 1 today. Time has flown buy so fast and you have grown so much. I miss you as a little baby, but I love to see your face everytime you do something new. You give us the biggest smile because you are so proud of yourself. Daddy and I are sooo proud to be your parents. You are such a joy and blessing. When you were in my tummy we thought we could imagine how much we would love you, but we were wrong. We love you more then we ever thought. We can't wait to see what kind of joy you bring us in the years to come.

You are such a boy. You love cars and balls. In fact your second word was ball. (More like Ba.) You also love to crawl thru tunnels and climb up onto whatever you can find. Your other favorite activity is to find everything you are not supposed to get into and do it anyways. You have such a curious personality and are looking to see where your boundaries are. Nana says you are just like what mommy was when she was a baby "strong-willed." You are starting to take a few steps with out help but only when you feel up to it. If there is something you want on the other side of the room you still crawl. You have always done what is easiest/fastest for you. It even took some coaxing to get you to stop army crawling. I know it will be too soon before you are running around. So I will enjoy these days where you are a little less independent.

You are pretty much eating whatever is on our plates. In fact you are starting to want what is only on our plates. You love your veggies alot more then any fruit. Some of your favorites include peas, green beans, lima beans, broccoli, stewed tomatos, spanich, and especially sweet potatos. You even will choose your veggies over any other food, except for cheese. You love cheese. That you get from Mommy and Cappy. Since you are one today that means no more bottles, not that you mind getting rid of them. You can now drink out of any kind of cup. You are getting so big and do not care where your milk comes from as along as you get it quick.

You are beginning to form so many words. Mama was first. a few others include Da (Dog), KK (Kitty), KKer (Cracker), Dada, Nana (for nana and banana) and Nigh Nigh. However you are able to do many different signs. Those include more, food, dog, kitty, drink, and milk. Daddy and I keep working with you so that Uncle Brazos and you can talk.

When it's time for bed you still like to vocalize your dislike that you have to stop playing. Mommy and Daddy rock you sometimes though. And if in your debate you throw out your woofie then there is no way you will go to bed. In fact I think you do it so we have to come into your room. You have to sleep with woofy/froggie. You sleep on your belly the most while laying ontop of woofie. We can't even use a blanket because you will lose him in the blanket and wake up.

So Happy Birthday Baby! and enjoy being little. Know that Mommy and Daddy LOVE YOU ALWAYS!! I can't wait to celebrate your birthday time at 2:56 pm with a cupcake. I hope you will eat this one.
