40 Weeks

Wow!!! I can't believe I have made it to my actual due date. Since I first found out I was pregnant I was sure I would deliver around 37 weeks. I don't know why, but I did. This is obviously not the case. In fact I am still so pregnant that I believe Gavin is refusing to come out. That is ok though. My induction date is suppost to be monday a week from tomorrow so atleast there is an end in sight. I have enjoyed the pregnancy even if the last blog might sound different. Here are pictures of the belly from the actual due date. I am feeling good enough in fact that I am going to work tonight my regular 12 hour shift. My belly is so big it cast its own shadow. HaHa!!!

Still a Preggo

I went to the doctor on tuesday morning. I was hoping to accomplish either hearing that I have made lots of progess or that I could convince my doctor that he needs to be born now. To much disappointment neither happened. I am now 147 lbs. I gained 3 more lbs in the last week. Hugh!! Then I found out that I am 1.5 cm dilated and slightly more effaced then the week before. Yes this is some progress, but I was hoping to hear that I was dilated alot more. Then when I mentioned being induced he said not at this time and not until I am 41 weeks. That is not until Dec 7th. AHHHHHHH!!! I did get to do another weight ultrasound. Gavin appears to be about 7lbs 9oz. However the ultrasound lady kept saying how squished he was and how its not very accurate. Plus she did not give me any new pictures. Oh well we will see him soon enough. When I went back to talk with the nurse about the induction date I was hoping that we could do it Friday Dec 5th. Then Josh would have 3 days at home with Gavin instead of spending it in the hospital. The nurse said that to be considered a medical induct and not an elective I had to be 41 wks exactly. I am wondering why and will be asking this question at the next visit. Is it my doctor, the hospital, or the insurance who makes this rule. I mean seriously what is 2 days. Plus if that Monday is full then I get pushed further. Who knows. I will find out though. What Josh and I ask at this point is that Gavin will come sooner then later, but at the right time. In the mean time I will be asking to pick up shifts at work since I scheduled my last day to be Thanksgiving. I also ask that you all pray for me and some patience. I am feeling very frustrated at this point. I feel more hormonal now then I did the whole pregnancy. Josh claims that Gavin is already a mommy's boy since he is refusing to come out. I have decided that Gavin is going to have my personality. STUBBORN!!!, but very cute :)

Gavin's Room

We have completed Gavin's room. It is painted and everything is hung. Here are the pictures. The only thing missing is Gavin himself. (and yes the bedskirt to the crib.) The chair is a gift from Gavin's Pappy and Grandma. I am sure he can't wait to be rocked to sleep in it. The crib is from his Cappy and Nana. Josh and I feel so blessed by our family's generosity and love. THANK YOU!!!

Cat Carrier

Yesturday Josh called me into the dining room. He said I had to see something.
This is what I saw.
We were hoping to keep the cats out of Gavin's stuff. Oh well. Doesn't he look cute. (AND BIG) He took up the entire car seat. Cougar was not the happiest when we kicked him out of it. He still has not tried to get in the cradle though which is a blessing because I am worried about the cats crawling on Gavin and smothering him.

38 weeks

We went to the doctors today and found that there has been no change in my cervix. It was very disappointing to me. I had such high hopes of Gavin coming today or tomorrow or even before Thanksgiving. I guess my body likes being pregnant and Gavin likes his safe haven. Oh well he will come when he is ready, although, it took lots of Josh's reassurance for me to say that. Please just pray that he comes sooner then later. I am feeling good but my feet are 3 times their normal size. I have added pictures so that you can all join in me laughing at myself. My toes look like stuffed sausages. :) Josh and I can't wait to meet Gavin and can't wait for all you to meet Gavin also. One thing that I will miss when I am no longer pregnant is feeling Gavin kick and move inside. There is no way to explain how special it is and how amazing it has been to watch him grow from a tiny dot with a tail to this little baby with chunky cheeks. Thank you all for your support and love. The weather has gotten colder this week and with only a few weeks to go until my due date, I refuse to go get any new clothes. However my sister-in-law Becky had generously let me borrow some of her maternity clothes. This sweater is from her stack. THANK YOU BECKY!!!!! You saved me.

Doctors Appointment

We had our last ultrasound today at the doctors. It was to check Gavin's weight. The stats are Gavin 7lbs 5oz (approx) and Mom 142 lbs. Yikes. Oh well it is all for him. The doctor said that I am 1-2 cm and almost completly effaced at +1 station. This means that the cervis is thinning, Gavin is in position but I could still be pregnant for another 2 1/2 weeks. I asked the doctor about inducing next friday and he was not to keen on the idea. Oh well, I know a few secrets that will hopefully work. We will see. During the ultrasound Gavin kept his hand near his face no matter how much I poked at him. In one picture you can see him make an unhappy face because of it. He also definantly has Josh's cheeks. The ultrasound lady said his head is measuring smaller then his belly. She kept checking and it kept coming up the same. I guess he likes to eat. I wonder where he gets that from. Lets hope he either delivers soon or quits gaining so much weight. I am not sure I can do an 8lb baby.

37 weeks

We finally got our cradle bedding. We are very happy with how it turned out. Cougar has not even tried to hop in the cradle. This is hopefully a good sign of how things will continue to be. Here are also some recents pictures of me and my belly. I started the pregnancy with a 27 inch waste and it is now 38.5 in. I never thought I could get this big.

Aggie Game

The game was fun yet very disappointing. We lost 66 to 28 against OU. However the lunch prior to the game was good. We got to see some of Josh's Corp buddies. They were surprised to see how big I was and to hear I was due in 3 weeks. Sometimes we think the lunch every year is so the mom's can get together. I have heard many fun stories.
