Bed Head

I took Gavin to get his hair cut yesturday and the lady cut it way too short. So this morning he woke up with Bed Head for the first time in his life. It was too cute!

Playdate with The Yartum's

On Friday March 19th Gavin and I got to spend the day with Mallory and Paige. Our sweet friends from Houston. We have gotten to see them twice so far since we moved to Dallas. Paige is getting so BIG. (ok so she still might be petite, but her maturity is far beyond :) ) We went to the park for lunch since it was such a nice day. I think the last time we were together the two kiddos didn't seem to be that far apart in age, but this time was a little different. It just went to show me how much Gavin is growing. And trying to get a picture with the two of them both looking at the camera was a joke in itself. It was great getting to catch up with Mallory. She is such a great mom! And of course there are no pictures of us. I mean who really wants to see us anyways. It's all about the kids! lol.

Just a few months ago when they came before to visit, I swear they were closer in size. It just makes me realize how BIG Gavin is getting.

Swimming Update

So Gavin has been in swim lessons since before his 1st Birthday. He is doing so well. He can now swim with a noodle wrapped around him and not be held to. He can balance himself and not choke (too often) on the water. Josh and I are so proud and very glad we put him in the lessons.

Mom's Groups

So we have been attending a new mom's group and we think its going pretty well. There are atleast kids around his age, even though most seem to be girls. He is having to learn to share which he is not the greatest at. He used to not care if a kid took his toy, but now it might mean a meltdown. Where do they pick these things up? Gavin's new thing is to growl. Weither it is when someone is taking something away or just randomly around the apartment. He also is in to FULL BLOWN tantrums. He does not like Time Out. When placed in time out he cries/screams, and then either rocks back and forth or lays down and begins kicking. I am amazed that this is happening at such an early age. Josh and I hope this means he will be better when he's 2. Right?

He does have some good qualities too. He is picking up new signs everyday. I love it when he is staring at my mouth and trying to figure out how to say a word. His vocab is not increasing dramaticly but we are trying. He also is the happiest when outside and has the FREEDOM to walk and get into things. He loves going to the park and can even go down some slides by himself. He is getting better and better at swim class and learing to balance in the water. (I will have to post a video/pics of this soon, if Josh is able to come and take some. :) )

15 months Old

Gavin is now 15 months old. His stats are





Weight: 23 lbs 15oz (48%)





Height: 31.5 in. (74%)





Head: 18 in (24%) Why could he not be in this low of a percent at birth. :)





He is a bottle of energy. He loves to be outside and have freedom to roam. He is just now in to 18 month clothes. He likes to watch childrens show that have alot of music and dancing like Hi 5 and Yo Gabba Gabba. He knows about 10 different signs and has about 10-15 differnt words. He is sleeps well at night except when there are alot of people around or if he is not feeling too well (like gas). His naps are about 30 min to 2 hrs but only if we are at home in his own bed. He is learing to climb up and down. He had 2 shots this time at the pedi office for his last DTAP and his first Hep A. Gavin will play by himself but prefers to play with any adult that is around. (especially his Cappy). He is becoming more and more of a man's boy unless he is sleepy or hurt. Then all he wants is his mommy. I still rock him to sleep on most occasions but only because I LOVE cuddeling with him. Gavin also will gives love (aka hugs) and kisses (wide mouth). Sometimes he will walk up to me and just give me love without me asking. Those are the BEST times. I love being a mom!

Uncle Allen

Uncle Allen flew into Dallas with his girlfriend Mandy. This is the first time we got to meet her and it sounds serious. Like maybe "The One." She was really sweet and seemed to fit in with our family well. Uncle Allen seems to be IN LOVE for sure.
