A Night Out

Josh and I had the opportunity to go out with some family/friends this past weekend. We had a good time and they treated us to a concert.

Even though I have lived in the DFW area most of my life this was the first time I have gone to Billy Bob's in Ft. Worth. We saw Robert Earl Keen. Now if you know Josh, then you would know that country music is not a favorite type of music to listen to. In fact, probably down near the very bottom. However, I LOVE country music so I was excited to go and happy that Josh put on a good face. He even bought a special shirt. It was a pearl snap short sleeve button down. (I think he looked pretty HOT!)

As we listened to the music I realized that I had only heard a few of his songs. However my Cousin Julie (a small town true Squirrl eating country girl) knows LOTS of his songs and sung to them also.

So my theory was that even though I have heard of REK I am a few years too young. :)

We also went to eat at Joe T Garcia's. Another first! If you don not know this resturant then let me tell you a little about it. It started off as a small tex-mex resturant and has grown HUGE! The restuant is made from an old house with BIG patio. They do not take names or accept reservations. You wait in line and they get a table. The amount of time you wait was not too bad, IF YOU EAT INSIDE. The line to eat on the patio was a different story. It was atleast a 2 hr wait. We got to see the patio in passing to our indoor seats. You have 2 choices for dinner, Enchalada's or Fajita's. The food was good, but the company was better.

THANKS Todd and Julie we had a REALLY GOOD time! :)

Julie Singing! (She has 2 girls close in age under 4, so she doesn't het out much. lol.)

REK!

Todd and Julie! Cute couple. Married x4 yrs with 2 girls 1.5 years and 3 yrs)

Happy Birthday Cappy!

So Cappy turned 51 today. I still can't believe my parents are only in their early 50's. They are so young!

And to add to the excitment they have been married 33 years and are going on a little get away to Colorado. (YEAH for them!)

Last Sunday we helped celebrate Cappy's Birthday with Hamburgers, cake, a few presents, AND LOTS OF FAMILY WITH LOVE!

The Kids LOVE Cappy! AND He LOVED having them around to help blow out the candels and open up his presents!

Lone Star Beer. For my Dad/Cappy, Beer is best CHEAPER and WARM!

The only smile I could get out of this little man. He was too busy playing with all his cousins.

Let the Raisin Hands/Feet Begin!

At our apartment we have a VERY nice pool. It has several shallow tanning areas that have fountains. It's actually perfect for toddlers like Gavin. He loves going. Right now though the water is VERY cold. It's kind of numbing infact. Yet Gavin doesn't seem to care very much, especially if it means going to the BIG fountain in the middle that is only accesible via swimming chest deep in the pool. (Fun for Gavin, not so fun for Mommy) :)

You would think that all the water that is in the pool would be entertainment enough, but NO, Mommy's water cup is sooooo much more fun! :)

So this is what it feels like to be a beached whale?

Sexy shirtless Gavin!

Just have to LOVE the potbelly! :)

PINK!

This past weekend I got to throw my sister-in-law Becky a Sprinkle Shower. See they already have a 3 year old boy, Andrew, and are now expecting a little girl, McKinley Ruth. So this time around was very different. NO BLUE!! Lots of PINK!!! It was so much fun and I think she really had a good time. Shelbi, her best friend, and Shannon, Shelbi's sister, helped me with the shower. This family, Shelbi and Shannon, make baby bedding and other baby items. They did such a GREAT job with McKinley's bedding. I wish I would have gotton a picture of the room. It is soo girly and cute. Here are a few pics!

Becky is the one in the pretty dress.

Not to brag, but I made those cupcakes. Thanks to Mimi and my new cookbook.

And I made the diaper cake. It was my first one. Not to shabby, huh?

Clothes line with lots of girly clothes! Too cute. It was hard to stop buying clothes. :)

A peak at her bedding. Too Cute, right?

Why is it that boys LOVE to be NAKED?

Atleast its cute at this age. Just look at that toosh. :)

Yes I know way too close to the TV. He is still in training. :)

And then just a few seconds before I stop him to put his diaper on he pees on the floor. :) He is not quite ready for potty training, because when he pee'd he was mesmerized that he had a "spray toy"
LOL!

Park

Gavin LOVES going to the park like most kids. Today when we went he was so excited he let out a BIG yell.

He swang on the BIG KID swing and was so proud of himself.

WOW What a differance a year makes. (Wll actually about 11 months. The baby picture was taken May 20th.) It makes me tear up when I look back at his old pictures. I miss the baby Gavin! But Toddler Gavin is soo much fun too. Just look at that smile!

Art Work

Every day Gavin gets bigger and older. He can now climb pretty well even though only a month ago he couldn't. Also when we used to get him to color at restaurants, all he could figure out was to eat them. Well,

we have progressed! He got this coloring book for Christmas and is now able to use it. He had so much fun. (Which lasted a total of about 5 min coloring and 5 min taking the crayons in and out of the holders. lol.)

Hard at work.
Sooo Proud of his artwork.

Happy Easter!

He is Risen! He is Risen Indeed!

I love this time of year. It is so great getting to celebrate being a christian. It's also fun becasuse spring is here and summer is coming fast. The flowers are blooming and pretty, and the new Easter outfits are too cute. Gavin's outfit was at first vetoed by Josh, but his veto got vetoed. He looked soo cute! He caught on to the whole Easter Egg Hunt pretty fast also. We ended up doing it at the park near my parents since they had just fertalized the yard. Gavin had a great time and loved being at the park to play after.

San Francisco

Josh had a conference to attend in San Francisco that was from Tuesday to Friday and so I flew up there Thursday night and we made a short trip out of it KID FREE. It was so nice getting to spend quality, uninterrupted time together. As I told Josh he had my complete undivided attention, unlike the normal at home where he might just get 1/2 my attention. We had a GREAT time and the weather was BEAUTIFUL. 60's and sunny during the day and 50's at night.
